Her body at moments is laid bare to our gaze in a voluptuous vulnerability that seems to appeal to that suprème fantasy of the voyeur, imagining that the object of his gaze does not see him seeing. But like the body in sleep, it is possessed of a jealous intimacy, folded into its own impenetrable reality and never graspable in its entirety.”
