Secuestrando a Barbie/Mono No Monogatari

Secuestrando a Barbie is an intimate portrait of Venezuelan Daniela Gallegos alias Aerea Negrot alias Miss Dandruf. A singer, performer, electronic music producer and DJ. A cinematic, minimal but multilayered portrait that seeks to reconstruct a personality that chose to disguise herself in the many ones that are perceived throughout the work. Interviews, performative elements and reenactments are used in an attempt to portray a strong creative creature. An effort to confront and/or exorcise a harsh life that its shared with many of her generation coming from Latin America or the so wrongly called «developing countries» and upon which the modern world is built. A tale of childhood transformations, transgender struggles, altered states of consciousness, self-acceptance and freedom.
