Blessed Amulets

As per usual Blessed Amulets is constructed out of images shot during Ria Pacquée’s ‘street ramblings’, the artist’s own term for roaming the streets of cities, of her home country as well as around the world, with a camera and capturing scenes of daily life she finds unusual. The subject of her latest film are the objects people use to project their hopes on and the rituals in which they are being used. In this process objects like coins, umbrella’s, garments, sculptures and flowers get elevated to a sacral state.
